Kumaraswamy to strive for internal reservation for SCs

Gulbarga, Jan 8 (UNI) Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy today assured the Madiga leaders that he would strive for internal reservation for Scheduled Castes to render justice to them by taking up the issue with the Centre.

Addressing the second regional Madiga Mahasabha here, organised by the Madiga Dandora, he said he would strive to persuade the Centre to amend the Constitution towards providing SCs internal reservation.

The Chief Minister promised that he would discuss the matter with the Opposition parties and take them into confidence.

Madiga Dandora State President Mapana Hadanur deplored that the Madiga community was unable to avail the benefits of reservation.

Later, addressing a public meeting, organised by the Karnataka Dalit Sangarsha Samithi, Mr Kumaraswamy assured the leaders to strive for the uplift of Scheduled Castes.
