Bangalore, Jan 8 (UNI) Infosys President and Chief Operating Officer Krish Gopalakrishnan today said Infosys will scout for right alliance partners in the embedded systems area.

Speaking at a CEO conclave of VLSI '07 here, he said Infosys was already working in the product space in the embedded systems area and the company would look for alliances with partners with competencies, should the need arise.

Infosys Chief Mentor N R Narayana Murthy said Infosys was successfully doing work at a higher level in this domain and was satisfied with it.

On the new initiatives planned by Infosys, he said the company was currently internally testing a programme where Professors and five-six doctoral students from the computer sciences department of five leading US universities would visit the Infosys campus for 45 days. During this period, the faculty who train Infosys staff would undergo morning sessions by the visiting professors, followed by tutorials with the doctoral students in the afternoon. This pilot programme would be extended externally if found successful.

On innovation, Mr Gopalkrishnan said it had to be a culture of an organisation and necessary processes have to be weaved into the fabric of the organisation. Innovation must not be restricted to technology alone, but extended to quality, processes and business model. Infosys had achieved innovation in every aspect, he added.
