Gunmen attack Baghdad bus killing 15: Source
Baghdad, Jan 8: Gunmen ambushed a bus carrying dozens of cleaners and other workers from a Shi'ite Muslim district in Baghdad to the city's airport today, killing at least 15 people and wounding 15 others, a hospital source said.
The source said the attack occurred in the Sunni Arab neighbourhood of Amriya in western Baghdad.
A boy aged around 15 told a Reuters reporter on the outskirts of the airport that he was one of five or six people to escape unhurt when the gunmen attacked the bus.
Police and the Interior Ministry said they were still checking the reports about the attack.
The Transport Ministry, which controls the airport, is run by supporters of Shi'ite cleric and militia leader Moqtada al- Sadr.
