Five radio stations set up in NE

Aizawl, Jan 8: Ministry of Information and Broadcasting hasdecided to set up five more community radio stations in Northeast bynext financial year.

Refering the ministry's decision State Information and PublicRelations officials here today said that Mizoram would be getting oneradio station while two stations each will be set up in Meghalaya andNagaland.

Northeastern states have been demanding more community radiostations in outskirts of the capital towns since long and theinitiative of setting up community radio stations in three states weretaken during NDA government.
