CPI leader switches over to CPI(M)
Chennai, Jan 8 (UNI) Veteran CPI leader L G Geethanandan today quit the party and joined the Communist Party of India (Marxist), disagreeing with CPI's policies and principles.
CPI(M) state unit secretary N Varadarajan, in a statement here said after Mr Geethanandan expressed the desire to join the party, the state council gave its consent and the central committee also gave its nod.
Mr Geethanandan had functioned in CPI as national council member, state committee member and Coimbatore district secretary, Mr Varadarajan added.
