BSF shoot dead two Bangladeshi smugglers

Bongaon, Jan 8 (UNI) Two youths were killed when Border Security Force (BSF) personnel opened fire on Banyaberia near Indo-Bangladesh border in North 24 Parganas district early today.

Official sources said both the victims who were allegedly involved in an international cattle-smuggling racket were killed on the spot after BSF found them moving suspisiously near the international border.

About 10 other smugglers, all believed to be Bangladeshi nationals, however, fled under the cover of darkness.

Later the bodies of both the smugglers were recovered and sent for post-mortem, the sources said adding that 11 cows which the smugglers had left behind were seized and later handed over to the local police.
