Jamshedpur, Jan 8 (UNI) Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (Secular) secretary general Surya Singh Besra today urged Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) to sever tie with the UPA at the Centre and forge an alliance with the regional parties here on the line of Left Front in West Bengal.

Mr Besra told reporters that JMM being the largest party of Jharkhand, it should create such an opportunity that all regional parties can come under one umbrella and form a new alliance on the line of West Bengal's Left Front.

He said JMM should keep equidistance with both UPA and NDA as both the combine failed to fulfil the aspirations of the people of Jharkhand even after six years of formation of the new state.

Mr Besra said JMM had joined hands with both the UPA and NDA, but always remained at the receiving end. Even being an important ally of UPA, Congress was responsible for sending JMM supremo Shibu Soren behind bars, he alleged.

He said the condition of the tribals in Jharkhand had worsened in the past six years and even the tribal chief ministers could not alter the fate of the poor and hapless 'adivasis,' he regretted.

He alleged that the Madhu Koda government had no achievement in its credit even after completion of 100 days and this government's days were numbered. He said a mid-term poll would be the only solution to overcome this political crisis in Jharkhand.

Mr Besra also criticised Mr Koda for openly drinking country liquor (Hadia), the photo of which came up in a leading newspaper.

He said such things would send a wrong signal to the people. He said the JVM (S), Jharkhand Party (Naren and Hodo factions) and Hool Jharkhand Kranti Dal had convened a meeting here today to chalk out a strategy to form a new allinace sans UPA and NDA.
