Azgaonkar is hungry for power, alleges Parrikar

Panaji, Jan 8 (UNI) Former Chief Minister of Goa Manohar Parrikar today alleged Manohar Azgaonkar had resigned from the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) and joined Congress as ''he was hungry for power''.

Mr Parrikar told mediapersons that Azgaonkar had planned to quit the party one month before the election. However, it was good that he left the party four months before the forthcoming State Assembly election, he said.

Mr Parrikar said not many from Dhargal constituency were with Azgaonkar and their main target would be to defeat him in the next Assembly election. ''We will decide about the candidate in Dhargal constituency soon,'' Mr Parrikar said.

He alleged the government will not scrap the Goa Regional Plan 2011 as all ministers were involved in it, and added that Mr Atansio Monserrate's resignation was only a political drama.
