Apang exhorts students to avoid agitations
Itanagar, Jan 8 (UNI) Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Gegong Apang has called upon students not resort to agitations like dharna, bandh to express their grievances, and exhorted them to become a role model in the greater interest of the society.
While addressing the students after inaugurating the 2nd All Adi Students' Union (AASU) conference at Rumgong under West Siang district yesterday, Mr Apang said ''If we have problems, we must present it through memorandum or if absolutely needed then the protest should be registered by wearing black badges''.
He said, the students should pursue their studies sincerely to be part of the knowledge economy and be an intellectual asset of the state and keep aside individual interests.
Responding to the six-point memorandum submitted by the AASU demanding establishment of a medical college at Pasighat, upgradadtion of Jawaharlal Nehru College as state university, establishment of an engineering college, a sainik school and opening of border trades, the chief minister assured to take up the matters at different fora.
