7 naxalites killed in encounter

Jagdalpur, Jan 8 (UNI) Police today claimed to have killed 7 naxalites, including two women, in an encounter with the CRPF jawans in Narayanpur area in Chhattisgarh's Bastar district.

The encounter took place in the forest near Chhinari village when the jawans were returning to the Ghodai camp after night patrol, Narayanpur's Superintendent of Police P Sunderraj told UNI.

Mr Sunderraj said four bodies, including those of the women, were recovered, while search was on to recover other bodies.

Meanwhile, police said, naxalites hacked to death a villager Alam Channu, who took part in the anti-naxal 'Salwa Judum' movement, at village Koyetpal near Bijapur in Dantewada district last night.
