11 people arrested for attacking KIMS security staff
Hubli, Jan 8 (UNI) Police arrested 11 people on the charge of attacking and assaulting security personnel of the Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) here today.
Police said a group of people allegedly attacked the security personnel when they refused to allow them to enter the hospital to see their relatives. Two security men were injured in the attack and were being treated at the hospital.
Meanwhile, activists of the Bahujan Samaj Party took out a procession, alleging rampant corruption in KIMS, and submitted a memorandum to the Tahsildar. Office bearers of the Samajawadi Party and Karnataka Rakshana Vedike also staged a demonstration in front of KIMS and burnt an effigy of State Health Minister R Ashok.
