VHP activists assaulted in Mysore
Mysore, Jan 7 (UNI) Tension prevailed in the city after three Vishwa Hindu Parishad activists were assaulted by a group of people here today.
Police said the incident took place when the activists were returning after attending 'Virat Hindu Samavesha'. However, due to timely intervention police brought the situation under control and convened meeting of both the groups who were about to clash.
Heavy police 'bandobust' was arranged in vulnerable areas.
Meanwhile, a section of the people staged demonstration against the 'Samavesha' in front of Mahatma Gandhi's statue, while counter demonstration was also held in support of the 'Samavesha'.
