TN Govt cancels entrance fee for animals

Chennai, Jan 7 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi today ordered the cancellation of entrance fee and treatment fee of Rs five charged on each animal brought to the government veterinary hospitals in the state.

A government press release said the fee was initially introduced by the AIADMK Government in 1993 and subsequently withdrawn by the then DMK Government in 1996.

However, it was re-introduced by the previous AIADMK Government in 2004, the release added.
