Saleem sets marathon singing record, sings for 105 hours

Ratlam, MP, Jan 7 (UNI) Inspired by the feeling of 'Sarvdhram Sambhav (positive secularism)', town-resident Mohammed Saleem has created a record by singing continuously for 105 hours.

Saleem began the journey of his songs from the rendition of 'Hanuman Chaleesa' at Rotary hall here on January 2 and ended it at 1930 hrs yesterday. A large number of people were present on the occasion.

During his marathon singing, Saleem rendered devotional songs from various religions, including Gayatri Mantra, Namokar Mantra of Jains, worship to Jesus and Nat-i-sharif of his religion.

Saleem rendered Gayatri Mantra 750 times, Namokar Mantra 700 times and Hanuman Chaleesa 200 times.

A series of efforts to set a marathon singing record was started in Madhya Pradesh after Indore-resident Anoushka Jachak made a record by singing for 61 hours followed by Deep Gupta setting a record by singing for 102 hours in Cochin. In this spate, a Khandwa girl and some Jhabua youths had also presented similar programmes.
