Saleem sets marathon record, sings for 105 hrs
Ratlam (MP), Jan 7: Inspired by the feeling of 'Sarvdhram Sambhav(positive secularism)', town-resident Mohammed Saleem has created arecord by singing continuously for 105 hours.
Saleem began the journey of his songs from the rendition of'Hanuman Chaleesa' at Rotary hall here on January 2 and ended it at1930 hrs yesterday. A large number of people were present on theoccasion.
During his marathon singing, Saleem rendered devotional songs fromvarious religions, including Gayatri Mantra, Namokar Mantra of Jains, ahymn to Jesus and a Nat-i-sharif (hymn in praise of prophet Mohammad).
Saleem rendered Gayatri Mantra 750 times, Namokar Mantra 700 times and Hanuman Chaleesa 200 times.
A series of efforts to set a marathon singing record was startedin Madhya Pradesh after Indore-resident Anoushka Jachak made a recordby singing for 61 hours followed by Deep Gupta setting a record bysinging for 102 hours in Cochin. In this spate, a Khandwa girl and someJhabua youths had also presented similar programmes.
