One killed,4 injured in accident on Srinagar-Jammu Highway

Jammu, Jan 7 (UNI) One person was killed and four others critically injured when a car in which they were travelling collided head on with an army vehicle on the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway near Chenani in Udhampur District of Jammu and Kashmir today, police said.

The vehicle with five people on board, was coming here from Srinagar, when it met with an accident at Champari in Chenani, police added.

One Haji Mohammad Yousuf, 44, who was driving the vehicle, died in the accident while his son Arfan Ahmed Mir, 20, Sanam, 22, daughter of Abdul Hameed Mir, Akash Mukhtyar, 8, son of Mukhtyar Ahmed and Ms Sirsa, 20, daughter of Abdul Rashid were seriously injured, police said.

All were residents of Pampore in Srinagar.

The injured were taken to the Government Medical College and Hospital here, they added.
