Official team holds discussion with fishermen
Puducherry, Jan 7 (UNI) An official team led by Sub-Collector (South) Vincent Rayer and MLA Kandasamy held discussions with Nallavadu fishermen to end the deadlock regarding construction of houses for tsunami-affected in the village.
The issue surfaced when fishermen from the village forced workers to stop construction work, demanding that the administration construct all the needed 450 houses and not 150 houses, for which building was on.
They said allotment of 150 houses to some in the village would create divisions.
After the talks yesterday, the officials informed the villagers that their concerns would be conveyed to the Chief Minister.
It may be noted that the Maharashtra government was constructing 150 houses in the village for tsunami-affected, which were nearing completion.
