No respite from cold wave in the Capital

New Delhi, Jan 7 (UNI) With night temperature hovering around 4 degree celsius, the Capital and its adjouning areas are experiencing an unprecedented cold spell for the past one week.

The Meteorological department today said the temperature fell to 4.2 degree celsius last night which was -3 degree celsius below the normal.

Thousands of people, who live on the footpaths, had a harrowing night due to lack of space in night shelters.

The cold spell would continue for some more days bacause of Northerly winds continuing with the same intensity.

However, the air and rail services from the capital were not disrupted as there was no fog in the morning.

While predicting about tomorrow, the weatherman said the sky would be clear, but the temperature might further be down to 4 degree celsius.
