Moily discusses administrative reform with Meghalaya CM

Shillong, Jan 7 (UNI) The six-member Administrative Reforms Commission, headed by Veerappa Moily, held discussions with Meghalaya Chief Minister J D Rymbai on important reforms issues.

Talking to newsmen after holding discussions with state government officials and NGOs here today, Commission Chairman Mr Moily expressed strong desire that Meghalaya should further accelerate the pace of development, particularly that of human resources for progress of the state as a whole.

Chief Secretary S K Tewari, while giving a detailed outline of various development activities in the state, apprised the Commission of the state of power, road and air connectivity which were the main thrust areas of the state government.

Earlier, the Commission's chairman also held discussions with the Chief Executive Member of Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council ''Hispreaching Son Shylla''.

The Administrative Reforms Commission was set up by the Union government to suggest ways and means to achieve a proactive and efficient administration of the country at all levels of the government.
