Mizoram starts flower business with Dubai
Aizawl, Jan 07 (UNI) In a bid to boost growth the horticultural sector, Mizoram government has started full-fledged business of anthurium flowers with Dubai last week.
Mizoram is the first state in the country to export aunthurium abroad in large scale and first anthurium consignment was despatched in August last.
Deputy Director of state Horticulture department Dr Saipari said the state government recognised marketing company Zopar Exports has already signed a multi-crore contract with a Dubai-based MNC Al Locrits International Llc to export anthurium flowers initially for the period of two years.
About 100 government recognised aunthorium growers across the state has registered under Zopar Exports for regular supply of aunthuruim flowers, which had been grown in their farms under the supervison of horticulture department.
