Knowledge based society theme of next Science Cong

Chidambaram (Tamil Nadu), Jan 7: The 95th Indian Science Congresswill be held at Andhra University, Visakhapatman in January 2008 withthe theme 'knowledge based society using environmentally sustainablescience and technology'.

It will be held under the general presidentship of R Ramamurthy, Indian Science Congress Association announced today.

The focus areas will be: --Knowledge-system, knowledge-baseddessimination, access and application of knowledge delivery using IT,CD and space technology.

--Environment upgradation.

--Bio-diversity, mapping and management.

--Sustainable green revolution.

--Organic farming, compost tecnnology.

--Bio-technology and bio-entrepreneurship.

--Water mission, Transport system, PURA cluster concept.

--Bio-technology and stem cell technology.
