Karnataka Cabinet expansion this month: Kumaraswamy
Ahmednagar, Maharashtra, Jan 7 (UNI) Karanataka Chief Minister H D Kumarawamy today said that four ministers, two each from the JD (S) and the BJP, will be inducted into his Cabinet during the expansion to be effected this month.
Mr Kumarawamy was speaking to reporters at the pilgrimage centre of Shirdi near here. He was accompanied by 36 legislators from his state.
To a question, Mr Kumaraswamy said there were no differences between the JD (S) and the BJP and there was perfect coordination between the two parties.
The said his government was working out an action plan to waive off interest on loans of farmers, taken from cooperative banks, amounting to Rs 6000 crore.
He expressed displeasure with the Centre alleging that the state was receiving no cooperation from the former. While lamenting the low prices fetched by farmers for their sugarcane crop, Mr Kumaraswamy said the state government had decided to reduce the purchase tax for sugarcane crop in order to provide succour to the farmers.
