ICBABM-2007 at Bharathidasan University from Jan 23

Tiruchirapalli, Jan 7 (UNI) The four-day 'International Conference on Biotechnological Approaches in Bio-resource Management' (ICBABM) will be held at Bharathidasan University here from January 23.

Conference Secretary S Sivaramakrishnan told UNI here that the conference is being organised by the Department of Biotechnology, School of Life Sciences of Bharathidasan University, in association with Indian Council for Medical Research (ICMR), All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and Department of Science and Technology (DST).

He said the conference would focus on current status of bio-resource, impact of natural calamities and diversity of bio-resource and approaches in bio-resource management.

The aim of the international conference was to foster bio-resource management and further development of conservation, protection and management of various eco-systems and natural resources.

Over 800 scientists, researchers, professors, students and industrialists from India and many foreign nations would participate in the conference, he added.
