Hooda seeks support to make Haryana number one state

Dadri, Jan 7 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today sought the unstinted cooperation of the people of the state to make Haryana the number one State in the country during the tenure of his government.

The Chief Minister was addressing a Pragati Rally organised by local MLA Nripender Singh at historic Kila Ground in district Bhiwani today.

Mr Hooda said he had got the opportunity to serve the state with the blessings of Congress president Sonia Gandhi and with the cooperation of the Members of Legislative Party of Haryana.

He urged the people to extend wholehearted cooperation to the state government so that the goal of making Haryana the number state in the country could be achieved. He said the people of Dadri were very brave and had exhibited indomitable courage before 1857 revolution when King Nahar Singh and Nawab of Jhajjar were hanged.

They resisted the move to the last movement.

Mr Hooda maintained that government had fixed the targets of making available sufficient water and power to the people of the state besides maintaining law and order situation in the state at all cost, which is essential for the all round development of the state.

While referring to the waiving of outstanding power bills of Rs 1600 crore in the state, he said the decision was very painful for him as he could not able to sleep for a minute at that time for two days because the total budget plan was of Rs 2200 crore during that year.

He said efforts were on to generate 5000 additional MW of power during next three and a half years to meet the growing demand of power.

He reiterated that after generating 5000 MW of power, at least 20 to 22 hours power supply would be ensured to the people of the state.

The Chief Minister said that for the equal distribution of water, BML Hansi Bhutana Canal costing Rs 260 crore was being constructed and it would be completed within next one year. The canal would bring 2000 cusecs of water and Bhiwani and Mahendergarh districts would be more beneficial.

While referring to the law and order situation, Mr Hooda said no patronage was being given to the criminals in the state as given during the previous regime. He reiterated that no criminals would be allowed to stay in the State.

He said that efforts were on for setting up of big industries in the State to generate more avenues of employment so that unemployment could be eradicated. He said that no family would be without work during the next year as Government had envisaged an ambitious plan.
