HAU gets Rs 6 cr for development and research
Hisar, Jan 7 (UNI) Haryana Agricultural University (HAU) has got a New Year bonanza from Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) in the form of Rs six crore for development and research projects.
According to HAU Vice-Chancellor Dr J C Katyal on strengthening and development of the state's Agricultural University, an additional grant of Rs 5.50 crore has been allotted. This grant would be utilised for replacement of obselete equipments to support researches in basic as well as frontier sciences and allied disciplines, he added.
Dr Katyal further disclosed that an amount of Rs 46 lakh have been allotted for the project entitled ''Production of biofertilizers and medicinal and aromatic plants through tissue culture.'' Expressing his happiness over this decision of the Council, Dr Katyal reiterated that it would accelerate the ongoing developmental programmes and researches in the university besides encouraging the researchers.
