Freezing cold in Rajasthan

Jaipur, Jan 7(UNI) Due to western disturbances the northern part of the state is in the grip of a severe cold wave with temperature in Churu dropping to below zero at -6 degree.

The temperature in Sriganganagar dropped to 1.3 degree, while Pilani in Jhunjhunu district recorded 2, Bikaner 3, Barmer 3.9, Jaipur 6.2, Jaisalmer 6.4, Dabok in Udaipur 7.3, Jodhpur 8, Ajmer 8.2. and Kota recorded 9.3 degree.

According to the weather office the cold wave would continue to persist in the northern part of the state for a few days while some places may witness ground frost with the mercury dropping to zero degree celsius.
