CM inaugurates PPP

Puducherry, Jan 7 (UNI) Targetting to immunise as many as 92,876 children in th age group of five years, Chief Minister N Rangasamy today inaugurated the Pulse Polio Programme (PPP) in the union territory by administering polio drops to a child at a booth in D Nagar here.

Official sources today said about 416 booths were set up in the union territory of which 312 were in Puducherry region and polio drops would be administered from 0700 hours to 1500 hours. Booths set up in border areas would function till 1800 hours to cover the children travelling in and out of Puducherry.

Polio drops would be administered in a door to door campaign on tomorrow and the day after to cover the children left out today, the sources added.
