CM condoles Mayilamma's death
Thiruvananthapuram, Jan 7 (UNI) Kerala Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan today mourned the death of tribal 'grandmother' Mayilamma, who led agitation against the soft drink major Coca-Cola.
In a condolence message here, he said her resistance against the exploitation of natural resources would always be an example to all.
Mr Achuthanandan said Mayilamma's role in the agitation against the soft-drink major Coca-cola would always be remembered.
Though the government banned Cola products in the state, following a High Court order it was forced to lift the ban.
Agriculture Minister Mullakara Ratnatkaran and Electricity Minister A K Balan also condoled Mayilamma's death.
