Bomb-like object creates flutter in city

Chennai, Jan 7 (UNI) A bomb-like object found in a garbage tin at Tonidiyarpet in North Chennai created flutter among the local residents, passersby and others today.

Police said, a rag picker, who found the object, alerted the local residents, who in turn sought the police help.

Police and the bomb detection squad rushed to the spot and removed the bomb object to an isolated place where they destroyed it.

Some miscreants filled up charcoal powder in a empty ice-cream container and threw it in the same garbage tin, police added.
