BJP meet adopts resolutions

Palakkad, Jan 7 (UNI) Kerala Bharatiya Janata Party President P K Krishna Das today said the three-day state committee meeting adopted resolutions on price hike, debt relief to farmers, ADB Agreement, SNC Lavilin Case, self-financing professional colleges and current political affairs.

Talking to newspersons here, Mr Das said the BJP would stage agitation seeking a CBI probe in the SNC Lavilin case as the state had lost Rs 374 crore under the agreement.

He wanted to know why the Left Democratic Front (LDF) was 'afraid' of a CBI probe.

Alleging the prices of essential commodities had increased by 70 per cent, Mr Das said the government was not taking any steps to curb the price hike.

The party would organise picketing at taluk offices on January 31 on the issue.

On the Kerala High Court judgement on Self-Financing Professional Colleges Act, the BJP leader said his party MPs would support any move to include the law in the IX Schedule of the Constitution.

Mr Das also said the KSTP corruption cases should be handed over to the CBI as the vigilance probe ordered by the LDF Government 'could not bring out the truth.' The BJP will organise Karshaka Adalat and Karshaka Relief Journeys in the first week of the February in districts where farmers had committed suicides.

To strengthen the organisation, the state executive will meet in the second week of March and also organise booth meetings from January 20 to 30.
