ALMD condemns killing of innocent people

New Delhi, Jan 7 (UNI) Assam Linguistic Minority Development Board Vice Chairman Chitto Pal has condemned the killings of innocent people by the underground militants of the United Liberation Front of Assam (ULFA).

Asom is approching towards a dangerous situation, where an attempt is being made to disintegrate the powerful Ahom community in the state, who still enjoys power over the state administration.

This is because the Ahom dynasty ruled the State for over 600 years, Mr Pal told UNI over the phone from Asom.

He alleged that ULFA is being used as a tool in this entire game plan by Pakistan based Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) to attain their long cherished objective of expanding the Islamic country's boundary.

He urged the State and Centre to take all necessary measures to protect the life and property of minorities in the State.

ULFA had earlier threatened that mini-Bangal, mini-Bihar and mini-Rajasthan will not be allowed to be formed on the soil of Asom.

Asom Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi has assured all communities including Bengalis, Biharis and Rajasthanis that their interests will be safe guarded at any cost by the State government. Mr Gogoi said they should not panic, what has happened is only an aberration and it will not be allowed to happen again.
