Puducherry,Jan 7(UNI) The Puducherry unit of the AIADMK would picket the legislative assembly here tomorrow to condemn the non-functioning of the Government in the union territory, AIADMK state secretary A Anbazhagan MLA said here today.

Talking to newspersons here, he alleged that the administration was yet to implement over 20 schemes including provision of colour televisions and unemployment allowances, as announced earlier. The party volunteers would take out a procession from the Anna square to the assembly for picketing it tomorrow, he added.

Mr Anbazhagan said even after the agitation, if the Government failed to implement the schemes, the party would organise a 12-hour bandh with the permission of the party High Command.

Pointing out the sudden appearence of an Ambedkar statue at Patthukkannu junction near here, he said no political party will have a second openion in erecting the statue of Ambedkar at different places here. But erecting a statue during midnight without the knowledge of any one is like maligning the fame of the leader, he added.

On the continued silence of the Government in the issue, Mr Anbazhagan said Government should shoulder the responsibility, if the issue leads to a breakdown of law and order here.

On the lavish cocktail party given by the Tourism Minister Malladi Krishna Rao, Mr Anbazhagan said the Lt Governor is not at fault. He was only an invitee of the 'minority Government' and the full responsibility for the incident should be shouldered by the Government, he added.

Stating that PMK founder leader Dr Ramdoss had blamed the Lt Governor Mukut Mithi, Mr Anbazhagan said the two PMK legislators here had also participated in the party and wanted to know what action did Dr Ramdoss initiate against them.
