1 held for receiving insurance claim on false theft

Indore, Jan 7: One person has been arrested on the charge ofreceiving insurance claim by submitting false reports of theft of hisvehicles, police said today.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (Crime branch) Arvind Tiwari saidBangdada-resident Ranjan Gupta had lodged a police complaint abouttheft of his Maruti car at Pithampur police station and regarding theftof a Hero Honda motorcycle at Aerodrome area in December 2005.

Crime branch personnel raided Ranjan's house and seized the vehicles. Ranjan was being interrogated in some other cases.
