Vedant University to offer better RR package-Samal
Puri,Jan 6 (UNI) Vedant University Project Vice President Ajit Kumar Samal today said displaced families will be suitably rehabilitated with better living facility and one member of the family will be provided with job in the proposed University.
Mr Samal told newsmen here that one person of the each of the 80 families to be displaced in the project would be imparted capacity building training to absorb them in the varsity set up.
The compensation amount would be paid as soon as the state government finalised the quantum he said adding that already Rs.5 crores had been handed over to the district administration for the initial work.
To a question, Mr.Samal said the world class university to be established at a cost of Rs.15,000 crores,would generate tremendous employment opportunities and business scope for the city traders and the other service sectors of Puri.
Local talents would be given priority in the appointment of non teaching staffs of the varsity.The 2009 academic session would began with the enrollment of 3500 students and by the end of the decade the varsity would be completed in all respect with intake of one lakh resident students,Mr.Samal said.
The University,he said would maintain international quality right from agriculture research project to genetic engineering.
The varsity and the city spread over 8000 acres would have facility for advanced research in Pharma and allied sector while Medical care and education of international standard would be developed in the complex.
Apart from teaching and research the Vedant Univarsity would nurture sports persons through its ultramodern stadium and sporting facility. A centre for culture and exhibition complex would be set up in the varsity.Air craft maintenance engineering along with an air strip and allied subjects would be a major attraction for students,Mr.Samal said.
