Suspect arrested in Navsari abduction case

Surat, Jan 6 (UNI) Navsari police today arrested a suspect in connection with the alleged abduction and murder of Nayan Kachrolia, a fourth standard student in adjoining Navsari.

The case acquired high profile status here as the victim's father belonged to the diamond traders, fraternity.

The accused Parvesh Navnith Rana has confessed that he had indeed kidnapped and murdered the boy, police claimed.

Nine-year-old Nayan was abducted from Sanskar Bharti School in Navsari on Thursday morning. The kidnapper had then demanded Rs 50 lakh as ransom from the family.

However, yesterday the body of Nayan was recovered in a covered plastic bag, from a railway track in Vijalpore area in Navsari district.
