SAIL's RMD mines achieve all time record prod

Kolkata, Jan 06: The Raw Materials Division (RMD) of the SteelAuthority of India Limited (SAIL), that caters to the iron ore demandsof Bokaro, Durgapur and Rourkela steel plants, has completed last yearwith record iron ore production of 16.83 million tonnes (MT)which isthe best ever production in any calendar year since its inception.

Individually, the Kiriburu and Bolani mines had achieved the alltime best production of 3.90 MT and 3.56 MT respectively striking agrowth of 4.39 per cent and 4.58 per cent over 2005, SAIL sources heretoday said.

They further said with a commendable production record Barsua Iron Mine had notched a growth of 12.17 per cent over last year.

In December most of the RMD mines had recorded the highest evermonthly production, they said adding that while Barsua Mines had showna growth of 17.6 per cent, Kiriburu and Bolani ore Mines registered 9.9per cent and 7.3 per cent over the previous year.
