Rajdhani express escapes Diphu blast

Diphu, Jan 6 (UNI) Passengers of the Dibrugarh-bound Rajdhani Express had a narrow escape today, when a bomb exploded at Daldoloni in Karbi Anglong district of Asom.

Official sources here said the blast had occurred at 0110 hours near a railway bridge, when the train from New Delhi had just crossed the area, in Doldoli, 10 kms from Diphu.

However, no damage to the bridge has been reported.

The district, which is dominated by the Dimasa Halomg Daoga (DHD) militants, would be electing its Autonomous Council Members today.

Police investigations regarding the cause of blast are still on.
