PM meets Prez; Briefs about upcoming Manila visit

New Delhi, Jan 6 (UNI) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today briefed President APJ Abdul Kalam about his upcoming visit to the Philippines where he is scheduled to attend the ASEAN Summit -- where India is a dialogue partner.

Dr Singh leaves here next week for Manila where the ASEAN Summit is to be held from January 13 to 15.

Acording to an official spokesperson, the two leaders -- during their ''regular interaction'' -- also discussed national and international issues.

The meeting, at the Rashtrapati Bhawan here, lasted some 25 minutes, the spokesperson said.
