PM meets Left parties leaders

New Delhi, Jan 6 (UNI) After meeting BJP leaders on January 2, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today invited leaders of the Left parties for lunch and discussed several issues of importance, including developments in the neighbouring countries.

External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee briefed the Left parties on the situation in India's neighbourhood and the country's relations with Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, a PMO official said.

CPI (M) General Secretary Prakash Karat and party Polit Bureau member Sitaram Yechury were also present in the meeting.
