Nithari murder accused undergo brain mapping tests in Gujarat
Gandhinagar, Jan 6 (UNI) The two accused in the gruesome murder of several children at Nithari village in Noida near Delhi --Moninder Singh and Surender Koli-- underwent preliminary polygraph and brain mapping tests at the Forensic Science Laboratory here.
Earlier today, the duo had to undergo several tests at the Civil Hospital here to check their physical parameters.
Head of the Forsenic Psychology Department at FSL Dr S L Vaya said a decision on having the narco analysis test would be taken soon.
Asked if Moninder Singh's diabetes could pose a problem for conducting narco analysis, she said doctors would take a decision on the question.
''We have done physical tests and we are studying the papers in detail before taking a decision on when the narco analysis tests should be conducted,'' she added.
Sources in the FSL said X-Ray, ECG, blood and urine tests were necessary to ascertain whether the accused would be able to undertake the more straining psychological tests like narco analysis.
The duo, accused of killing at least 20 children in a macabre manner after sexually abusing them, were flown in from Delhi yesterday. FSL experts had carried out their psychological profiling yesterday.
Noida DySP Dinesh Yadav yesterday said they wanted to probe certain missing links and therefore the accused were brought here for mainly three tests --lie detector, brain mapping-- and narco analysis.
He said the police wanted to look at all angles, including trafficking of vital organs.
Director of the Directorate of Forensic Science J M Vyas said it could take three to four days to conduct the tests.
