Manmohan Singh meets Left party leaders

New Delhi, Jan 6: After meeting BJP leaders on January 2, PrimeMinister Manmohan Singh today invited leaders of the Left parties forlunch and discussed several issues of importance, includingdevelopments in the neighbouring countries. External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee briefed the Leftparties on the situation in India's neighbourhood and the country'srelations with Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Pakistan and SriLanka, a PMO official said.

CPI (M) General Secretary Prakash Karat and party Polit Bureau member Sitaram Yechury were also present in the meeting.
