Manjunath murder case hearing postponed to Jan 19

Lakhimpur Kheri, Jan 6 (UNI) The high-profile Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) marketing officer V Manjunath murder case was today postponed to January 19 for next hearing.

Earlier, the prosecution produced two witnesses in the district court -- investigating officer R P Shukla and Lucknow-based BSNL sub divisional officer V K Arora.

While, Mr Shukla testified that mobile phone was recovered from the accused, Mr Arora informed the court that the SIM cards were issued by Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL).

Several witnesses have already turned hostile in the case.

Manjunath's bullet riddled body was found in the nearby Sitapur district on November 19, 2005.

The Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow (IIM-L) alumni was an upright government servant and had taken a tough stand against adulteration of fuel at some petrol outlets here.

The main accused in the case are already cooling heels in jail.
