Bhubaneswar, Jan 6 (UNI) The Orissa Gana Parishad(OGP) today sought the intervention of the State Election Commission(SEC) on the serious lapses in the preparation of voters list.

OGP president Bijaya Mohapatra told newspersons here that the Field Officers appointed by the SEC had committed largescale bungling and irregularities in the preparation of voters list for the coming panchayat elections in the state.

He alleged there had been omission of voters' names in the list prepared by the Field Officers in all the five blocks of Kendrapada.

Such omissions were also reported from other parts of the state.

Mr Mahapatra said that during his visit to Kendrapada he had come across largescale omission of voters' name in Marshaghai, Mahakalpada, Kendrapada, Derabis and Garadpur blocks.

Stating that all this had been done deliberately by the Field Officers, the OGP president urged the SEC to take strict action against the erring officers at the block and district level. Even the District Collectors, he alleged, had acted in an irresponsible manner in preparing the voters list.
