Kidnapped Surat boy rescued from UP

Surat, Jan 6 (UNI) An eight-year-old boy, allegedly kidnapped from Varelli village in Palsana taluka here for a ransom of Rs 15 lakh, was rescued from Jhansi in Uttar Pradesh yesterday, police sources informed here today.

The accused, Pritam Singh Kevat and Paragi Kevat, who were residing as tenants in a lodge owned by Baijnath Yadav in Varelli had allegedly kidnapped Bajinath's son Rahul(8) on December 26.

They had taken the boy to Jhansi in UP and demanded a ransom of Rs 15 lakh from Baijnath to release the boy.

Police instructed Baijnath to give money to the kidnappers. The duo was arrested when they came to collect the money and the boy was released.

The boy was brought to Surat today, sources said.
