Internal autonomy best solution to Kashmir issue: Farooq

Srinagar, Jan 6 (UNI) Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah today urged India and Pakistan to speed up the dialogue process on Kashmir issue.

Addressing party workers here today, Dr Abdullah said the peace process on Kashmir issue which started due to the international pressure is getting delayed and both the countries should take steps to speed it up so that people of Jammu and Kashmir could live in peace.

He said the graph of alleged Human Rights (HR) violations was increasing with every passing day.

''I met Pakistan Foreign Minister Khurshid Kasuri and informed him about the National Conference stand on Kashmir issue and the suffering of the people of the state'', he said, adding, he will be meeting Foreign Minister Pranab Mukherjee before his visit to Pakistan.

Dr Abdullah said India should also take immediate steps to find a lasting and peaceful solution to the Kashmir issue and urged his party workers to extend all help to restore peace in the state.

The demand of the internal autonomy by the NC Patron was the best solution to the Kashmir issue, he said, adding, despite road maps being prepared by different parties and organisations, the autonomy of NC will be dicussed first.

Condemning the exceution of deposed Iraqi president Saddam Hussein, he said a deep rooted conspiracy was going on against Muslims.

He asked Muslims to remain alert against the conspiracy and defeat the evil designs of those who wanted to divide them.
