Intense cold wave continues in Punjab

Jalandhar, Jan 6 (UNI) The intense cold wave continued unabated in Punjab even as the mercury plunged further to minus 3.8 degree Celsius at Adampur airport this morning.

The minimum temperature which stayed at minus 2.2 degree at the Adampur airport for past two days recorded further fall of 1.6 degrees today, an official spokesman said, quoting Air Force Met Centre.

Ludhiana (Halwara airport) recorded a minimum temperature of 0.4 degree and Pathankot and Amritsar recorded 1 degree today.

The cold wave conditions are likely to continue for next one or two days, the spokesman said.
