Human Rights body's accusation

Rajahmundry, Jan 6 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Human Rights Council President Muppalla Subba Rao and General Secretary M Syamprasad accused the police of human rights violation in connection with a caning incident during autorickshaw drivers' strike at Lalacheruvu and Bommuru.

Addressing the press here, Mr Rao and Mr Prasad said incident smacked of human rights violation and action must be initated against the guilty police officials.

They claimed some auto drivers were beaten up while in police custody.
