BJP condemns ULFA killings, holds Centre responsible

New Delhi, Jan 6 (UNI) The BJP today strongly condemned ULFA's attack on 31 people, mostly Hindi speaking, in Tinsukia district of Asom last night and said the soft policies of the Centre towards such anti-national forces was responsible for it.

Talking to UNI, BJP Vice President Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said the Centre had sent a very wrong signal to anti-national forces, terrorists and Naxalites by scrapping POTA and repealing IMDT Act Asom. This had boosted the morale of such forces and this kind of incidents had become 'routine', he said.

The BJP vice president demanded the Centre review its internal security situation and take strong steps to check such incidents.

In the past two to three years there had been a record number of attacks by terrorists, extremists, Naxalites and other anti-national forces, he added.
