Bihar: Nitish rules out cabinet expansion

Patna, Jan 06: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar todaycategorically ruled out expansion of his 27 member council of ministersin near future and said that there was no grievance of BJP legislatorsover the functioning of state government.

Talking to reporters here, Mr Kumar said that expansion ofministry was a routine affair and it would be done as and whenwarranted. Any decision on expansion of state cabinet would be taken atthe meeting of coordination committee of constituent parties ofNational Democratic Alliance(NDA), he added.

While dismissing reports of any sort of dissidence among BJPlegislators over the alleged high-handedness of top bureaucrats, hesaid that some BJP MLAs had voiced concerns about it which would belooked into in due course.

Deputy Chief Minister and senior BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modiclarified that there was no discontentment among his party MLAs overthe functioning of the NDA government and said that some grievancesraised in this connection could be best described as 'suggestions' forthe government.
