Bandh observed in Navsari to protest kidnapped student's murder

Surat, Jan 6 (UNI) A bandh was observed today in Navsari to protest the kidnapping and murder of a nine-year-old student by unidentified criminals.

Many shop owners from the city and village areas participated in the protest.

Unidentified persons had allegedly kidnapped a nine-year-old boy, Nayan, on Thursday.

Police said the sketches of the suspected kidnappers had been prepared and a breakthrough was expected soon.

The investigation, co-ordinated by Navsari, Surat and Valsad police together, is concentrated at Jalalpore area in Navsari, from where the kidnappers made the phone call, sources said.

Meanwhile, the post mortem report of the murdered boy had indicated that the murder took place some 20 hours before the body was found.
